Head Chef – New Opening (City Centre, Birmingham) Location: Birmingham City Centre Salary: Circa £50,000 per annum (final package dependent on experience) Hours: Approx. 48 hours per week | Structured rota (4 on / 4 off) Opening: New Year 2026 (planning phase) We are beginning conversations with exceptional Head Chefs ahead of the opening of a new, high-end city-centre restaurant launching in Birmingham in the new year. This will be a produce-led, modern restaurant focused on outstanding ingredients, confident flavours, and visually striking plates — designed to sit comfortably among the UK’s most exciting contemporary dining destinations. The concept is food-first, design-conscious, and built for today’s dining audience: refined but relaxed service, strong visual identity, and a kitchen culture driven by pride, professionalism, and consistency. At this stage, we are quietly speaking with the right people, rather than running a rushed recruitment process. The Role As Head Chef, you will take full ownership of the kitchen operation and play a key role in shaping the opening from the ground up. You will be responsible for: Leading kitchen service across breakfast, lunch, and dinner Designing seasonal, ingredient-led menus with strong visual appeal Building, training, and motivating a high-performing brigade Delivering consistency, pace, and quality at all times Managing food costs, stock control, and supplier relationships Upholding exemplary food safety and operational standards Working closely with senior management throughout the opening phase This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a chef who enjoys both creativity and structure in a high-profile city-centre setting. About You Proven experience as a Head Chef, or a Senior Sous ready for their first Head Chef role Background in modern, quality-led restaurants or ambitious food concepts Strong leadership and communication skills Confident with menu development, GP control, and kitchen systems Passionate about produce, presentation, and detail Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment Right to work in the UK What’s on Offer Circa £50,000 salary, dependent on experience Structured 4 on / 4 off working pattern Significant creative freedom within a clear concept Opportunity to lead a flagship opening Long-term progression as further sites launch Supportive, food-driven leadership team Next Steps If you’re a Head Chef — or a Senior Sous ready to step up — and would like to explore a high-quality Birmingham opening with strong backing and long-term potential, we’d welcome a confidential conversation. CVs and expressions of interest can be shared to discuss further.
