About this job
This role is funded by the UNISON Branch Support and Organising Fund and is part of a dedicated project with the Eastern & Coastal Kent Health Branch. The BSOF Branch Casework Organiser will provide direct support to UNISON members working in health and social care across Sussex and Kent, offering advice, guidance, advocacy, and representation.
The postholder will play a key role in delivering high-quality individual representation, supporting members through complex casework, and ensuring their rights are upheld in the workplace. They will need to demonstrate strong advocacy skills, with proven experience in representing trade union members in individual cases, including disciplinary, grievance, and capability procedures.
In addition to casework, the organiser will work collaboratively with branch officers and stewards to strengthen local organising capacity, develop workplace representation, and contribute to wider branch campaigns. The role may also involve preparing case documentation, mentoring activists, and supporting communications and member engagement initiatives.
