Job Description
We are seeking a strategic and forward‑thinking Organisation Design Manager to ensure our business is ‘future fit’ and structured for continuous success. This highly collaborative, internal consulting role partners directly with the Senior Leadership Team and People Partners within a matrixed structure to conduct thorough organisational assessments, develop data‑driven design recommendations, and lead complex transformations from concept through to implementation.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As an Organisation Design Manager, you will drive operating model architecture and role design across the business, ensuring our structures maximize efficiency, align with strategic objectives, and improve overall operational effectiveness. You will take ownership of projects that shape the future of our logistics network.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Strategic Organisation Design: Design and oversee the implementation of optimal organisational structures, roles, and processes.
* Organisational Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments using data and insights to diagnose current structural efficiencies and identify opportunities.
* Recommendation Development: Deliver data‑driven design recommendations, including detailed structural charts, role definitions, and process mapping.
* Stakeholder Partnership: Serve as a trusted consultant to senior leaders, providing coaching on OD practices and transformation planning.
* Implementation & Change Management: Lead deployment of design changes, facilitate transition to new ways of working, and ensure business readiness with minimal disruption.
* Process Improvement: Ensure design activities contribute to an architecture that positions the business for success and maximises efficiency.
* Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with Internal Communications, Legal, People Services, and Programme Managers for seamless, compliant change delivery.
* Brand Ambassadorship: Foster a positive company culture, champion ‘The Ocado Way’, and uphold core values.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
* Proven experience in Organisation Design, OD, or HR Consulting, with a track record of leading and implementing organisation design, restructuring, and transformation projects.
* Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills, able to assimilate complex data and focus on root causes.
* Experience using data and analytics for diagnostic assessments and translating findings into practical solutions.
* Deep knowledge of change‑management principles and methodologies for complex organisational transitions.
* Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, capable of facilitating constructive discussions and achieving alignment among diverse groups.
* Proactive, curious, and solutions‑focused mindset with a commitment to continuous learning.
* Ability to operate effectively in fast‑paced environments, driving progress through action and tackling issues with urgency.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of presenting complex structural information clearly to all levels of the organisation.
CIPD Level 7 qualification or equivalent level qualification by experience (QBE) is required, and a degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is advantageous.
