Head of Insights & Category Innovation – Yeo Valley Production
Role Overview
As Head of Insights & Category Innovation you will generate research, data and insights to shape long‑term growth strategies for our brands. You will support commercial planning, lead consumer and category innovation pipelines and collaborate with senior leaders across marketing, product and commercial functions.
Responsibilities
* Consumer and Brand Insights
o Champion the consumer voice, champion consumer needs and preferences, and ensure work remains responsive to changing behaviours.
o Develop a vision and roadmap for consumer behaviour, aligning insights with strategic goals and anticipating future market trends.
o Lead best practice approach to consumer and concept research, ensuring effective spend and value‑added results.
o Track macro and market trends, competitor activity and emerging consumer behaviours to anticipate opportunities and risks.
o Understand and track brand health, including commission research and consumer insight to support long‑term brand building.
* Category Innovation
o Develop a category innovation process that becomes an engine for long‑term growth across multiple categories and brands.
o Champion a culture of creativity, curiosity and thinking big, creating a test‑and‑learn approach.
o Oversee ‘big bet’ opportunities and lead prioritisation based on opportunity, business goals and brand strategy.
o Deliver strategic innovation initiatives, including market research, platform sizing and prioritisation.
o Partner with Product and Brand Management to translate innovation ideas into actionable briefs.
o Foster collaboration across teams and monitor performance of innovation projects.
Essential Qualifications
* Expert knowledge in insights, innovation, category and commercial functions.
* Proven track record in writing, implementing and delivering insights and actions.
* Excellent project management, creativity and visioning skills.
* Strong presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.

The role reports to the Marketing Director. Working hours are 40 per week, Monday‑Friday, with flexible working principles. The role is based in YV HQ offices in Blagdon, Somerset. Preference is for co‑owners to be present in the office 2‑3 days a week. Applicants must be Yeo Valley co‑owners and applications will be accepted only through our recruitment portal.
