Job Description:
We are looking for a Photo Researcher to join our International Editorial Design team, supporting product content design across media verticals.

* You work well across time zones and content types, communicate clearly and are genuinely collaborative.
* Tech-savvy and quick to pick up new tools, you have a solid grasp of photography production workflows, budgeting, fee and rights negotiation.
* You have a deep photo research background with a sharp eye for design and visual storytelling.
* Your encyclopedic knowledge spans celebrity portraiture, conceptual, fine art, historical, archival, still life and fashion.
* Naturally curious, with a broad cultural awareness and commercial sensibility — you source and present a range of powerful photo solutions that consistently hit the brief.
* You are masterful in stock agency licensing, price negotiation, contract execution — and skilled at art directing and supervising retouching to the highest standard.
* This is a full-time contract role for a candidate who holds themselves to the highest professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Research, curate and license visual assets across EMEA and APAC business platforms
* Brief and art direct retouching to ensure assets are delivered to the highest standard
* Manage and track budgets, licenses and fee negotiations with external agencies and artists
* Maintain thorough and timely archiving of all project work across cloud and DAM systems, in line with team standards
* Proactively identify challenges and maintain efficiency in fast-paced environments
* Contribute to the teams collaborator pool by identifying photographers, photo houses and image sources for specific projects
Key Qualifications
* 5+ years of photo research, photo editing or art direction experience in advertising, publishing, entertainment or creative agencies
* Up-to-date on visual trends with a passion for visual storytelling
* Deep knowledge of photography across genres including lifestyle, portraiture, fashion, sports, documentary, conceptual and fine art
* Broad familiarity with image sources including stock houses, boutique agencies, wire services, galleries and estates
* Strong understanding of image rights, licensing, contract negotiation and legal clearance processes
* Strong design sensibility with the ability to present and communicate photo solutions clearly through Keynote
* Proficient in Photoshop, Lightroom, Creative Cloud, Numbers and Excel
Additional Requirements
* Proficiency in Mac environment and software
* Bachelors degree in Photography, Graphic, Communication or Information Design preferred
* Proficiency in additional languages a plus
