About the Team The Protein Data Bank in Europe (PDBe) is a founding member of the Worldwide Protein Data Bank, the international consortium responsible for maintaining the global archive of experimentally determined macromolecular structures, the Protein Data Bank (PDB). In addition to managing the European PDB data resource, the PDBe team develops a range of tools and services that support structure deposition, data integration, and advanced search capabilities for structural biologists and the wider life science community. PDBe also maintains the PDBe Knowledge Base (PDBe-KB), a community-driven resource launched in 2018 to integrate functional and biophysical annotations for macromolecular structures. Furthermore, the team co-develops and operates the AlphaFold Protein Structure Database (AFDB), launched in collaboration with Google DeepMind in July 2021, which provides large-scale access to AI-predicted protein structures. The PDBe team consists of an international and interdisciplinary group of scientists, software engineers, and data engineers. PDBe, together with the CS3DB team, forms part of the Molecular and Cellular Structure cluster at EMBL-EBI. We are seeking an Infrastructure and Production Project Leader to lead the development and operation of the technical infrastructure supporting PDBe services and associated resources, including PDBe-KB and AFDB.
