B5 Occupational Therapist (Adult Mental Health - Community)

The role involves providing specialist OT clinical advice on the assessment and intervention of clients' occupational and functional needs. Interventions will be within the practitioner's sphere of competency and major skill set. The practitioner is expected to liaise with colleagues who may have more experience in specific fields as required.
Responsibilities include managing a caseload, using evidence-based, client-centred Recovery principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions. The role also involves assessment and prescription of assistive equipment as needed, and developing collaborative partnerships with external agencies such as CCGs, voluntary sector, social care, education, and employment services.
You will play a key role alongside partner agencies and individuals with lived experience. Additional duties include designing, developing, and facilitating recovery-focused group work, both internally and with partner organizations. You will supervise and support fellow OT team members and receive regular supervision from your service manager and the Occupational Therapy Lead.
The role also involves supporting and developing student placements and newly qualified OTs through our preceptorship program, liaising with our AHP Practice Learning Facilitator and Preceptorship Facilitator. You will promote and support our IPS service 'Work Your Way,' involving embedded Employment Specialists in our CMHTs, and contribute to trust-wide OT service development and innovation.
