MRO Mechanical Structural Technician

Role Overview
Support major UK defence programmes including Apache, Chinook, C‑17, P‑8A, and E‑7 Wedgetail as part of the MRO organisation, delivering aircraft maintenance, repair, and operations while ensuring compliance with technical data, regulations, and customer standards.
Responsibilities
* Conduct assigned maintenance tasks under supervision.
* Interpret and implement technical information, ensuring work follows Approved Technical Data and is correctly certified under authorisations.
* Execute aircraft maintenance activities to meet schedule milestones, controlling and sequencing workloads.
* Deliver maintenance under Boeing MAA MRP Part 145 or MOD customer approval, including assembly, disassembly, modification, and repair of aircraft systems/structures/electronics/components.
* Upgrade aerospace components to correct failures or implement changes.
* Perform troubleshooting of complex aircraft systems (pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical/electronic) to isolate faults and repair as per authorised documents.
* Provide flexibility with work locations and times to ensure timely delivery to the customer.
* Mentor peers and apprentices, exercising oversight of their work.
* Mitigate immediate risks, escalating emerging issues in a timely manner.
* Contribute to continuous improvement workshops and projects.
Basic Qualifications
* Fluent written and spoken English.
Eligible to apply for 1st signature on type within the first 3 months of the role.
Preferred Skills
* Strong communication skills and ability to distribute and sequence technical work requirements among a team.
* Understanding of technical documents, drawings, and associated publications.
* Working knowledge of MAA Regulatory Articles (RA), MAA Regulatory Publication (MRP) Part 145, aviation Quality Assurance (QA), and Safety Management System (SMS), and application within area of responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience
* Recognised relevant trade apprenticeship or training, including aircraft and component structural repair experience.
* Knowledge of general aircraft maintenance processes: Human Factors, FOD control, tool control, health & safety & COSHH.
* Experience in commercial or defence environment.
* Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office.
* Effective team member.
