We are seeking a highly motivated, qualified and experienced librarian to fill this vacancy within the Academic Services section of the University of Bath Library. About the role As Faculty Librarian for the School of Management you will ensure exemplary library service provision to the School. You will be line manager for the Management Subject Librarian, and guide other library staff when working to support the School. Working with the Subject Librarian you will ensure continued development and consistency of approach in delivery of services across the School to meet current and emerging information needs of staff and students at all levels. You will have direct subject, resource and liaison responsibilities for the Marketing, Business & Society and Strategy & Organisation Divisions within the School and for liaison, information skills support, guidance and teaching for all the School’s undergraduate and research students. You will: have responsibility for the provision of library induction, information skills teaching, liaison, enquiry handling and the development of library collections to support all library users in your areas, working with the Subject Librarian to ensure excellent and equitable provision across the School. manage expenditure of the Library materials budgets for the School, working with and supporting the Subject Librarian take responsibility for decisions on purchase and subscription to the electronic and print materials required to support the School's teaching and research, ensuring fair distribution of resources and best value for money. liaise with publishers and professional groups, to ensure you keep up to date with developments in resource provision, new publishing models and library services. liaise with and build excellent professional relationships with staff and students in the School, representing the Library at appropriate School meetings to gain a full understanding of the School’s resource and service needs. as a member of the Library’s Senior Managers’ Team, contribute to the development of Library strategy, services and operational plans, leading task and finish and special interest groups as appropriate to support this. work with the Head of Library Academic Services, and the team of Faculty Librarians to ensure co-ordinated, equitable provision and development of library academic services to the whole University community.
