Company Motorola Solutions UK Limited. This role sits within the Guardian Mobile team of the International Mobile Applications organization and serves frontline requirements for UK Fire officers across mobile platforms such as Windows MDTs, Android and iOS.
Role The Software Engineer role is part of a team of ~10 engineers developing mobile solutions and gateway servers for UK Fire Service customers. You will work with the Senior Manager of Software Engineering and the UK Fire Mobile Product Manager to deliver high-quality software at velocity, maintain existing products, and help modernise the product stack.
Responsibilities
* Develop high-quality, high-performing software in collaboration with a team of engineers.
* Contribute to the design, development and release of mobile solutions for UK Fire Service customers.
* Work under the direction of the Senior Manager of Software Engineering and with the UK Fire Mobile Product Manager.
* Support the modernisation of the product stack while maintaining longevity for existing applications.
* Collaborate with colleagues to ensure successful delivery and knowledge sharing.
Basic Requirements
* A relevant university qualification such as a BSc Computing Science or BSc Software Engineering.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills.
* Must be able to attain Non-Police-Personnel-Vetting Level 3 (NPPV3).
Desirable
* Experience architecting and developing mobile applications (Android/iOS) using Java, Kotlin, Objective C, or React Native.
* Experience developing web applications using HTML, CSS, React, etc.
* Experience architecting and developing .NET/Windows applications with Windows UI frameworks (e.g. WPF, WinUI).
* Experience architecting and developing server/gateway applications and client/server communications.
* Experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum).
Nice to have
* Experience developing solutions for emergency services agencies.
* Experience working with DELPHI.
