Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant - Full Time | Start September 2025
Are you a caring, patient and enthusiastic individual with a passion for supporting young learners with additional needs? A specialist secondary school in Bournemouth is looking for a full-time Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their team in September 2025.
This unique role is based within the school's Early Years-style provision, supporting students with significant Special Educational Needs (SEN), such as autism, developmental delay, and communication challenges. You'll help deliver a nurturing, play-based learning environment tailored to their individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting young learners (with Early Years developmental needs) within a secondary school SEN provision
* Assisting with structured learning, sensory play, and therapeutic activities
* Providing 1:1 and small group support to meet EHCP targets
* Promoting independence, emotional regulation and social interaction
* Helping with personal care routines where necessary
* Working closely with teachers, therapists and families
Ideal Candidate:
* Experience with children in Early Years, SEN or care settings
* Kind, patient, and nurturing attitude
* Confident supporting communication and sensory needs
* Comfortable working with pupils with complex needs
* Committed to safeguarding and inclusive education
