Job description - Series Development Lead

Location: UK-based (remote-first, with occasional travel to Tring, Hertfordshire - particularly during onboarding. Hybrid working available for those within commuting distance.)

Content With Purpose (CWP)

CWP is a certified B Corp and a member of 1% for the Planet, on a mission to tell the stories that matter most. Through our award-winning digital film series, we work with leading

organisations, institutions and experts to explore the ideas shaping a better future - from sustainable finance and urban planning to healthcare, science and climate innovation.

In the past year alone, our work has taken us across the US, Europe and Asia, collaborating with pioneers from government, academia, industry and the non-profit sector.

We are now looking for a Series Development Lead to play a pivotal role in bringing these series to life.

The opportunity

This is not a typical sales role. We are looking for someone intellectually curious, articulate and credible - someone who can engage senior decision-makers in thoughtful, informed conversations about complex topics, and translate those discussions into meaningful partnerships.

You might come from an academic, scientific or technical background, or have built your career in environments where credibility, research and depth of understanding matter. Commercial experience is important, but your ability to grasp complex subject matter and communicate it with clarity and authority is what will set you apart.

You will be responsible for presenting to senior stakeholders (including CEOs, Marketing Directors, academics, government leaders, heads of departments, sustainability professionals and other senior decision makers), and securing organisations to feature in our series as Content Partners.

About the role

Working alongside our existing Series Development Lead and supported by a dedicated research and pre-sales team, you will deliver multiple high-level video presentations each week - all pre-qualified and scheduled in advance.

Each conversation (typically up to one hour) will involve engaging with CEOs, senior academics, policymakers, sustainability leaders and other key decision-makers.

Alongside presenting, you will contribute to shaping outreach strategy, refining our proposition, and ensuring we are engaging the most relevant organisations for each series.

Key responsibilities

* Deliver multiple high-quality video presentations each day to senior decision-makers, securing organisations as Content Partners
* Lead the full post-pitch engagement process - crafting thoughtful, tailored follow-up emails, managing ongoing conversations, and handling multiple touchpoints (calls, emails, stakeholder discussions) to progress opportunities through to close
* Build relationships through consultative, informed dialogue with senior stakeholders
* Lead contract discussions, procurement processes and onboarding of new partners
* Collaborate closely with the Series Development Team (pre-sales) team to guide outreach strategy
* Conduct and contribute to in-depth industry research across sectors such as the built environment, healthcare, engineering, science, sustainability and more
* Share insights with creative and editorial teams to help shape each series
* Continuously refine and improve sales and research processes
* Work cross-functionally to ensure a seamless experience for Content Partners
* Contribute to the growth of CWP as we expand into new sectors and international markets
* Support and embody CWP’s mission around better business, environmental responsibility and social impact

Experience & background

* Proven experience in new business / business development, including presenting to and closing senior stakeholders
* Experience selling intangible or concept-led offerings (e.g. media, content, partnerships, consulting, or similar)
* A strong academic, scientific, technical or intellectually rigorous background (highly desirable)
* Demonstrated ability to quickly understand and engage with complex subject matter
* Strong awareness of global challenges, current affairs and sustainable development issues

Skills & attributes

* Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with credibility and gravitas
* High emotional intelligence - perceptive, adaptable and able to build trust quickly
* Strong research and analytical capabilities
* Ability to translate complex ideas into compelling narratives
* Highly effective in remote-first environments, with strong communication across distributed teams
* Highly organised, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Self-motivated, proactive and target-driven
* Resilient and comfortable working in a high-performance environment
* High attention to detail and professionalism
* A collaborative mindset and positive attitude
* A sense of humour always helps!

Why join CWP?

* Work on meaningful, globally relevant topics that drive positive change
* Collaborate with world-leading experts and organisations across sectors
* Be part of a growing, purpose-led business with international reach
* Become a vital part of a small, supportive and ambitious team
* Flexible, remote-first working (with a dedicated, professional home setup)
* Uncapped commission structure

What’s on offer

* Competitive salary: Basic salary range is 35-45K depending on experience, with uncapped monthly commission totalling an additional 50 - 80K (potential OTE for right candidate 125K per year)
* 25 days holiday + bank holidays (increasing with years of service)
* Pension
* Full home working setup provided
* Flexible working arrangements

About CWP

We uncover, create and share stories that inspire action, cultivate hope, and highlight how individuals and organisations can contribute to a better society and a healthier planet.

We partner with professional associations, NGOs and trade bodies to produce multi-platform digital series - combining documentary filmmaking, interviews and written content to engage global professional audiences.

Each series is brought to life through collaboration with Content Partners - organisations featured within the series through dedicated films. These include pioneers across government, academia, the private sector and non-profits, all leading the way in sustainable innovation and transformation.

Recent example

In 2025, CWP partnered with the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) to create Travel Redefined: Tourism for People and Planet, a wide-ranging digital film series exploring tourism’s potential to drive positive social, cultural, environmental and economic impact:
