Role Overview
We are excited to hire an experienced BIM/Revit Technician to support the design, documentation, and digital asset management for new‑build vessels within MSC Cruise Management UK. You will create, maintain, and coordinate accurate 3D models, drawings, and structured data using BIM methodologies and Revit‑based workflows while adhering to ISO 19650 BIM Information Management standards and procedures.
Responsibilities
* Develop detailed Revit models for architectural systems.
* Create accurate 3D geometry, families, assemblies, and parametric components specific to MSC vessel standards and layout.
* Update models based on design development, mark‑ups, and stakeholder feedback.
* Maintain high modelling standards aligned with MSC CM BIM Protocols and ISO 19650 principles.
* Produce clear and accurate 2D drawings following MSC CM standards.
* Support technical documentation for construction, in‑use, and asset management.
* Maintain structured BIM data environments (CDE), ensuring correct metadata, naming conventions, revision control, and file organisation.
* Assist in developing and maintaining asset tagging for components, rooms, decks, and serialised equipment where applicable.
* Consolidate and export BIM data for downstream uses (COBie outputs, schedules, databases, digital twins).
* Support design coordination meetings with Autodesk Construction Cloud federated models or Revit coordination views.
* Identify clashes and support resolution workflows.
* Communicate interfaces between architectural, structural, MEP, and interior outfitting.
* Collaborate closely with the Head of BIM, Architecture/Design team, Interior Designers, and the Project Management Team.
* Prepare BIM models and visuals for management, shipyard, external stakeholders, and suppliers.
* Participate in project planning, design reviews, and BIM coordination sessions.
* Support digital transformation initiatives (digital twins, asset management, model‑based workflows).
* Expand specialist knowledge of cruise ship systems and marine BIM best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
Professional background:
* Consistently delivered BIM and complex drawing outputs on time and to a high standard.
* Proficiently followed the relevant and established BIM standards and contributed to their continual improvement.
* Able to maintain a structured, organised working file environment.
* Actively participated in coordination meetings and design/technical reviews.
* Proven experience with cruise ship or vessel layouts.
* Proven experience with building layouts and systems.
* Proven understanding of outfitting, cabins/hotels, public spaces and technical spaces.
Essential qualifications:
* Bachelor’s or Foundation degree in Construction, Architectural Technology, Digital Construction/BIM, or a related built‑environment subject.
* Ability to travel internationally.
* Right to live and work in the UK.
* Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit (Architecture) – 5+ years.
* Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Autodesk Construction Cloud – 3+ years.
* In‑depth understanding of architectural/engineering drawings, construction documentation, and layouts.
* Ability to create and maintain Revit Families and Libraries.
* Good/basic proficiency in Rhino 3D – 1+ year.
* Good proficiency in Enscape and/or TwinMotion for Revit – 1–2 years.
* High attention to detail and precision.
* Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and work within tight project deadlines.
* Problem‑solving mindset with a proactive approach to improving workflows.
* Ability to take initiative, responsibility, and be transparent.
* Excellent knowledge and experience of ISO 19650 BIM Information Management standards and procedures.
