The Role:
The Finance Officer will work alongside all members of the finance team assisting with day-to-day finance tasks, month end tasks, and ad-hoc projects throughout the month. They should be looking to improve processes, ensure compliance and add value where possible. The role is a 1-year fixed term contract.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts and improve processes as needed.
Assist the purchasing manager and management accountant with various day-to-day and month end tasks, providing cover where needed.
Support the purchasing manager and management account with system upgrade.
Support the head of finance and management accountant with quarterly reforecasts and annual budget.
Provide cover to members of finance team as needed.
Assist with sampling and review for year-end audit.
Ad-hoc analytical tasks, communicating results and driving change with key stakeholders.
Technical Experience:
A management accounting and reconciliation background, preferably Microsoft Dynamics /Navision experience.
Previous experience working to tight deadlines.
ACCA, CIMA or ACA part qualified and actively studying preferred but not essential
Experience assessing and building processes.
Experience business partnering across functions.
Advanced excel knowledge including manipulating large amounts of data and building models.
Strong analytical and numerical skills.
Excellent problem-solving skills along with the ability to recognise the need to include others in forming resolutions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of audit process.
Knowledge of VAT.
Persistent but professional manner capable of influencing others.
Hybrid Working:
This is a fulltime role Monday - Friday 9-5
While our Head office is a place to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, we recognise that flexibility around where you work is just as important. This role is based at our head office in Berwick. Training will also be required to take place in predominantly in the office at Berwick.. Once your training has been completed, hybrid working pattern can be discussed to ensure they meet business needs and role requirements. There are activities and meetings that you will need to support in-person held within the office.
