Portfolio Director – Maritime
About the Role
You’ll take on a key leadership role as Portfolio Director (Maritime) overseeing the delivery and strategic direction of a major Defence portfolio.
This is an opportunity to shape and lead complex Maritime programmes that directly contribute to UK Defence and national security objectives. You’ll provide direction, governance and support to a highly skilled team of programme managers, engineers and service delivery professionals.
What You’ll Do
* Lead and manage the delivery of large-scale Maritime programmes, ensuring strong performance across technical, financial and operational areas.
* Develop and deliver strategic plans that align with customer priorities and long term objectives.
* Build trusted relationships with UK Government Royal Navy and Defence stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
* Oversee systems engineering, trials, evaluation and through life management of key Maritime capabilities.
* Provide clear leadership and foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and teamwork.
* Contribute to future growth by identifying opportunities and supporting business development in the Maritime domain.
About You
You’re an experienced leader with experience in Maritime Defence delivery and the ability to manage complexity with confidence.
You’ll bring
* Deep experience in the Maritime sector, ideally across systems, platforms, autonomy or capability development.
* A proven record of delivering large scale Defence programmes / portfolios (£250M +), including financial and operational responsibility.
* Strong understanding of systems engineering and delivery across the full lifecycle.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, you know how to build trusted relationships at senior levels across Government and industry.
* A collaborative and decisive leadership style, able to guide teams through complex challenges and drive performance.
You’ll need to hold, or be eligible to obtain MOD SC Security Clearance.
