Job Title: Assistant CDM Consultant
Location: Birmingham

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established consultancy for a Junior / Assistant Health & Safety Consultant to join their team and support the delivery of CDM Principal Designer services across a range of construction projects.
This role is ideal for a graduate or someone at the very early stages of their health and safety career. No significant previous experience is required, as full training, mentoring, and day-to-day support will be provided. Any prior exposure to construction, health and safety, or a related subject would be helpful, but is not essential.
The position is mainly office-based, with some visits to client offices and construction sites as part of learning the role.
What You'll Be Learning & Supporting With
* Assisting senior consultants and Principal Designers on live projects
* Helping to gather and organise pre-construction information
* Supporting the preparation of simple health and safety documentation
* Attending design team and client meetings alongside experienced colleagues
* Learning how CDM regulations are applied in practice
* Helping with basic risk information and project record
* Visiting construction sites with senior team members to observe and assist
* Working with internal teams and external consultants as part of project delivery
What We're Looking For
* An interest in construction, design, or health and safety
* A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn
* Good communication skills and confidence working with others
* Basic organisation skills and the ability to manage simple tasks
* Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
* Awareness of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM)
* A relevant degree or health & safety qualification (or working towards one)
* Qualifications such as the NEBOSH Construction/General Certificate
* IOSH Affiliate membership
