Reports to: Design Office Manager Metframe Location: Office based in Oldbury, West Midlands, United Kingdom (UK)
Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5.00pm with half hour lunch break each day and 8.30am to 1.30pm with no lunch break on Friday of each week 37 hours in total, paid monthly.
The Metframe Department provides lightweight, fast track galvanised steel building solutions, which are assembled on site or pre panelised off-site as a modern method of construction.
This is a full-time position where you will be required to work as part of the design team of this market leading lightweight structural system.
Person specification Achieved a Structural or Civil Engineering Degree Structural design of building structures in all materials, but ideally with a focus on steel
Be familiar with AutoCad Ideally working towards chartered status Some experience of working with BS EN1993-1-1, 3, 5 & 8 and BS EN1991-1-1, 3 & 4 would be an advantage Have the ability to form good working relationships with customers Be well organised, self-motivated, professional and able to work under pressure Be responsible for achieving objectives on own initiative, as well as part of a team Be computer literate and able to communicate design principles at all levels Attention to detail, accuracy and mathematical analysis
Must be eligible and able to prove that you can work in the UK, as the Company does not hold a sponsorship licence. Your responsibilities Management of projects through the Metframe design and drawing office Design of medium rise building structures Clearly communicate designs and concepts to customers Provide technical support and advice to Metsecs team of Sales Managers including general structural, fire, acoustic and thermal issues Represent the Company at design team meetings and site visits when necessary at various locations across the UK.
