We are currently re-structuring and are now looking for a long-term fullstack JavaScript engineer (web development) to join as a technical lead. We’ve already built a working platform, launched a proof-of-concept that has brought in hundreds of customers in only 3 months, and have generated significant revenue with the numbers to prove it… You’re joining a ready-made start-up that’s already generating revenue, no need to gamble on us.
About the Role:
* Part-time: 12 hours / week (split between maintenance, customer support and product development)
* Remote with flexible hours
* Permanent position with a long-term focus
* You’ll inherit a working codebase, clean it up, maintain it, and lead future development. (We set lenient deadlines so don’t be worried about the workload!)
* Tech Stack - Vite, Typescript, React, Tailwind CSS, Supabase
* Proficient in authentication and authorisation within web development
Responsibilities
* Finish, maintain, and optimise the existing platform
* Address tech-related customer support tickets
* Lead the development of new features
* Monitor up-time and fix urgent bugs proactively
* Collaborate directly with the directors
* You will be briefed on specific Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) that you are required to meet, explained in further discussions.
Qualifications
* Ideally a current final-year student, postgraduate or alumni of a University-level degree that has a large component of web development.
* Projects completed by yourself are prioritised above everything, must show a previous experience of web development and proficiency in the required tech stack languages (see 'About the role')
* Additional certifications in web development and cyber security will be prioritised
What we are looking for:
* Student or Alumni in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
* Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and full-stack frameworks (e.g., React, Next.js, etc.)
* Proficiency and experience of Supabase is preferred, but not essential
* Experience integrating third-party API’s into web-based applications
* Experience with authentication and authorisation flows (e.g. OAuth)
* Ability to work independently, solve bugs quickly, and build scalable features
* Willingness to be accountable, communicate proactively, and grow with the team
* Willingness to learn is absolutely essential, we are willing to accommodate growth of skillset in this role, so even if you are unsure if you fit, you should still apply!
* Strong software security awareness and clean documentation habits
Compensation
Equity-based pay: We are looking for a permanent team member, therefore will not be paying salary and will instead offer equity-based pay. We are already revenue-generating, you won't need to gamble on us.
There will be scope for growth into a full-time role as the company continues to grow. Specifics regarding pay will be negotiated in detail with each candidate that is successful in the interview stages (behavioural and technical), after signing the required legal documentation (Non-disclosure agreement).
