Job Description Please note that our client DOES NOT offer Tier 2 Sponsorship Sous Chef – Care Home | £26,700 | 40 Hours Per Week Our client, a warm and welcoming care home set in a beautifully converted and thoughtfully designed property, is looking for a dedicated Sous Chef to join their talented kitchen team. This luxury service delivers more than just meals – it creates comforting dining experiences that support wellbeing, independence, and dignity. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Head Chef and ensuring that residents enjoy nutritious, delicious meals tailored to their needs and preferences. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled chef with previous experience in a care or nursing home, who understands the difference that thoughtful food can make to daily life. What We’re Looking For: Experience working as a chef within a care home or nursing home is essential. Strong understanding of dietary requirements, including IDDSI textures, allergens and nutritional needs in older adults. A valid Food Hygiene Certificate (minimum Level 2; Level 3 advantageous). A genuine passion for food and improving quality of life through nutrition. Calm, team-oriented and reliable with strong communication skills. Create dishes suitable for specialist diets, including allergies, intolerances, and modified food textures (IDDSI). Contribute to menu planning and food presentation, bringing creativity and care to every dish. Ensure food is prepared, cooked and served in line with hygiene and safety regulations. Work collaboratively with care staff to understand and meet residents’ nutritional requirements. Help maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment.
