Senior Electrical Officer
* Annual Salary: £37,035 to £40,476
* Location: Sheffield
* Job Type: Full-time, Fixed term Contract (12 months initially)
Join the vibrant city of Sheffield in an exciting role as a Senior Electrical Officer within the Housing & Neighbourhood Service. This position plays a crucial role in managing the 39,000 council homes, ensuring they are safe and warm, and delivering excellent service to the residents.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Deliver a contract administration service for the 5-yearly domestic electrical testing programme, focusing on improving compliance.
* Implement and monitor on-site quality assurance, defect inspection, and handover procedures in accordance with policies.
* Issue site instructions and variations while providing competent, technical advice.
* Participate in a multi-disciplinary team responsible for contract administration, operational delivery of electrical works, and tenant and contractor liaison.
* Conduct joint inspections with Neighbourhood Officers, offering assistance and guidance on electrical maintenance and property improvements.
* Undertake inspections and surveys, prepare technical and non-technical reports, and present findings and recommendations.
* Ensure effective consultation and communication with tenants, contractors, elected members, and colleagues, including liaising with emergency services and other external stakeholders.
* Attend and actively participate in local project groups, working groups, and progress meetings.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Must hold the 18th edition IEE wiring regulations qualification.
* Experience in dealing with contractors and providing customer care.
* Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality reports and diagnose investment requirements.
* Strong team player, organised, and calm under pressure.
* Ability to lead and participate in consultations with customers about work programmes.
* Understanding of legionella legislation and actions required to manage properties according to regulations is ideal; willingness to undergo training if necessary.
