Locum Social Worker - Intervention & Care Planning Team Barnet Council | North London Are you an experienced Children's Social Worker looking for your next locum opportunity in a high-performing local authority? Barnet Council is seeking a dedicated and skilled Social Worker to join its Intervention & Care Planning Team on a locum basis, offering a competitive rate of £38.50 per hour. Why Barnet? Youll hold manageable caseloads and work within a supportive team environment led by experienced managers committed to achieving positive outcomes for children and young people. Key Responsibilities Managing complex child protection and child in need cases Completing assessments, care plans and statutory visits Working with children subject to Child Protection Plans and Public Law Outline processes Undertaking court work and care proceedings where required Building strong relationships with children, families and partner agencies Delivering high-quality, child-focused social work practice What Were Looking For Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration Minimum 3 years post-qualified experience in Childrens Services Strong experience within Child Protection, Court Work and Care Planning Ability to work autonomously and manage a varied caseload Excellent assessment, analytical and report-writing skills Ofsted-Rated Childrens Services Barnets Childrens Services were rated Good overall by Ofsted, with services for Children in Care judged Outstanding. Inspectors highlighted the boroughs _strong and effective services_, knowledgeable and committed staff, and stable leadership team, making Barnet an excellent authority in which to develop and practice social work.
