About Platform Engineering at Monzo:
The Platform Collective builds and maintains the infrastructure, tools, and processes that set the rest of Monzo's technology teams up for success. We work on a wide range of shared infrastructure, services, and engineering tooling.
The Infrastructure Platform team sits within the Platform Collective and is responsible for managing the Kubernetes clusters that power the bank, our service mesh, networking setup, and cloud interaction management. Our team comprises backend engineers and cloud infrastructure experts, leveraging our experience and software engineering skills to solve problems and manage our cloud infrastructure.
Our Infrastructure Platform team has two focus areas:
* Building and managing the cloud infrastructure that underpins Monzo's technology, running across AWS and GCP, including Kubernetes and Envoy
* Helping other platform teams succeed by abstracting complexity and enabling them to solve customer problems
We are investing heavily in this team to support Monzo's growth from 10 to 20 million customers, expand our product range, and set the foundations for global scaling.
What you'll be working with:
We rely on the following tools and technologies, but direct experience is not required and the interview process can be completed in any language:
* Go for application development
* Kubernetes for workload management
* AWS and GCP cloud platforms
* Terraform for resource management
* Envoy Proxy for service mesh

The Interview Process:
1. Initial Call
2. Take-home task or pair coding exercise
3. Final interview: system design and behavioral interview
