Bitterne Park School is seeking a committed and compassionate Pastoral Support Worker to join our inclusive and supportive school community.
This is a key role within our pastoral team, working directly with students to ensure they feel safe, supported and ready to learn. You will play a vital part in helping young people navigate social, emotional and behavioural challenges, enabling them to thrive both in and beyond the classroom.

As a Pastoral Support Worker, you will contribute directly to this by building meaningful relationships with students and acting as a trusted adult who can provide guidance, challenge and support where needed.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing targeted one-to-one and small group support for students facing social, emotional or behavioural challenges
* Supporting the development of positive behaviour, resilience and self-regulation strategies
* Working closely with teaching staff, pastoral leaders, families and external agencies to coordinate effective support
* Monitoring student progress and maintaining accurate, high-quality records in line with safeguarding requirements
* Contributing to a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment where all students can succeed

Requirements
* Experience working with young people in educational or similar settings.
* Understanding of child development and effective behavior management techniques.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Empathy, patience, and resilience in challenging situations.
* Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and commitment to student welfare.
