Job Advert: Self-Employed Tutor (GCSE & Functional Skills Maths, with English cover desirable)
We are a small, friendly home education hub seeking an enthusiastic and experienced self-employed tutor to deliver engaging and supportive learning sessions for our students.
Role Overview
* Subjects: GCSE Maths and Functional Skills Maths (small groups and one-to-one).
* Additional: Occasional cover for GCSE and Functional Skills English would be an advantage.
* Hours: 3–4 hours per week initially, with the potential to grow over the academic year and take on further responsibilities.
* Pay:
* Groups: £30–£50 per hour (depending on experience).
* One-to-one: £30–£40 per hour (depending on experience).
Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who:
* Has strong subject knowledge in GCSE Maths and Functional Skills Maths.
* Can adapt teaching to meet the needs of individual learners in small group and one-to-one settings.
* Ideally has some experience in teaching or supporting English to GCSE/Functional Skills level.
* Is organised, reliable, and able to foster a positive, supportive learning environment.
* Has prior teaching/tutoring experience (formal or informal), preferably with young people in alternative or home education settings.
