About the role
Southern Water is seeking a PMO Analyst to provide portfolio reporting and associated analysis on agreed KPI’s across the Portfolio. Ensure consistent and standardised (where possible) approach to project delivery and drive the associated governance and quality assurance across IT Delivery.
What you will be responsible for:
1. Monitoring, reporting and analysis of project progress against time, cost and quality expectations, providing an early warning of any variances or exceptions and ensuring compliance with Southern Water project and programme delivery framework, governance and reporting standards.
2. Financial management: tracking, reporting, analytics, purchase order and invoice process, financial systems updates.
3. Ongoing management and monitoring of the Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies (RAID), for all programmes and projects via regular engagement and challenge with the programme/project teams. Advise and escalate on key areas requiring Senior PMO Analyst and management attention. Review and quality assure project change requests.
4. Resource demand management: Support PM with the tracking and reporting demand and assignment for the project, identifying options where shortfalls or conflicts arise
5. Responsible for contributing ideas to the ongoing development, and improvement of the Project framework and maintenance of the delivery lifecycle, processes, standards, and templates. Perform administration of tools used in PMO, e.g. Enterprise 1 (Planview PPM tool).
6. Perform regular and documented quality assessments within the Portfolio, providing recommendations and support as appropriate. Facilitate post project reviews, capturing lessons learnt and actioning continuous improvements across the delivery communities.
7. Support project, programme, and portfolio level reporting, including analytics to identify issues, trends, gaps, and improvements required.
8. Pro-actively forming effective relationships with collaborators across the Programmes/project within Digital.
What you’ll bring to the role:
9. Knowledge PMO and PM tools
10. Understanding of programme and portfolio management as well as project management
11. Project management experience
12. Strong demonstrable experience of scoping and delivering PMO services
13. Project Change Control and quality assurance. Identify trends to slippage.
14. Experience of the full delivery lifecycle and project management tools and techniques.
15. Project Management qualifications, Prince 2, APM, MoP, or a related field.
16. Demonstrable experience in a PMO or project support role.
17. Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile).
18. Experience of managing resource demand and assignment, identifying opportunities and risks
19. Experience of financial management including tracking and reporting, purchase orders, invoicing, and finance system updates
20. Experience of project, programme, and portfolio reviews, reporting and analytics
21. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
22. Attention to detail and organisational skills.
23. Ability to execute in a high demand environment, whilst balancing multiple priorities.
24. Excellent communicator, who can engage with all levels of stakeholders across the department.
