The Opportunity
An established building services and sustainability consultancy is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated BREEAM Assessor to join its growing sustainability team.
The business delivers integrated engineering and low carbon consultancy services across a broad range of sectors including commercial, industrial, education, residential, healthcare, and mixed-use developments. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting sustainable design strategies and environmental certification delivery across projects throughout the UK.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver BREEAM assessments from pre-assessment through to final certification
Prepare, coordinate, and review evidence submissions in line with BRE requirements
Provide sustainability advice to clients, contractors, architects, and project teams
Support project teams in achieving targeted BREEAM ratings
Review drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation
Attend client meetings, design workshops, and site visits where required
Assist with wider sustainability and low carbon consultancy services
Monitor project progress against environmental and sustainability objectives
Produce high-quality technical reports and assessment documentation
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of BREEAM standards, legislation, and industry best practice
Candidate Requirements
Essential
Licensed BREEAM Assessor accreditation
Experience delivering BREEAM assessments within the UK construction industry
Strong understanding of sustainable building design and environmental legislation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages
Desirable
BREEAM AP qualification
Experience within a multidisciplinary consultancy environment
Knowledge of low carbon design principles and energy strategies
Familiarity with:
One Click LCA
IES VE
Energy modelling software
Embodied carbon assessments
Degree qualified in Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, Building Services, Construction, or related discipline
