Technical Sales - Science Based

Salary: £40,000 £50,000 basic + commission (up to £60,000)
We are supporting a long-established, family-owned scientific company in Bourne End in their search for a commercially focused Business Development Executive. If you have a background in technical sales and a strong academic foundation, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a stable, friendly, and high-performing team.
About the Role
* Identify and win new business through outbound technical sales.
* Develop cross-selling opportunities with existing customers.
* Approximately 90% telephone-based with some in-person visits and attendance at UK and international trade shows.
* Reporting directly to the Commercial Director as part of a close-knit sales team.
Key Requirements
* A 2:1 or First-Class degree in a science-related subject (preferred).
* Minimum 2 years experience in a technical sales role with clear evidence of success.
* Excellent spoken and written English.
* GCSE Maths grade C or above. The role involves quoting in multiple currencies, so strong numeracy is essential.
* Competent in MS Word and Excel.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Based within commutable distance of SL8 or willing to relocate.
* Willingness to travel internationally for customer visits and trade shows.
Desirable Skills
* Knowledge of a non-English European language.
* Experience using CRM systems.
* Background in medical or healthcare-related sales.
