Customer Representative – Gravesend, Kent
Location: Gravesend, Kent, United Kingdom.
We are looking for a permanent, full‑time (35 hours per week, Monday to Saturday) Customer Representative for our branch in Gravesend. A 45‑minute commute from the branch is required. The starting salary is £26,500 (minimum from 1 July 2026).
Key responsibilities
* Welcome customers into the branch and understand their needs, offering trusted and friendly help.
* Handle a range of transactions and queries accurately while keeping customer needs, security and fairness front of mind.
* Guide customers through banking products and services that are right for them, helping them manage their money with confidence.
* Work closely with colleagues in a busy branch environment, supporting one another to deliver excellent customer service even at peak times.
* Follow processes, spot potential issues and raise concerns when necessary to protect customers and the company.
* Support face‑to‑face banking being meaningful and accessible on the high street.
Required skills and qualities
* No prior banking experience required, but experience in a customer‑service environment or a passion for helping people is preferred.
* Strong communication, patience, empathy and people skills to understand customer needs.
* Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, adapt quickly and remain calm under pressure.
* Comfortable using technology and digitally savvy.
* Team‑oriented mindset, building great customer experiences through collaboration.
* Ownership and integrity, acting with care to protect customers and their money.
