Eleven International is a multi-award-winning cross-border marketing and communications agency working with international Consumer Tech, B2B and Web 3.0 brands. We work closely as a strategic partner for our clients, and often play a critical role in making an industry-defining impact, introducing new categories within the consumer technology industry.
Our clients are often companies on the cusp of the cutting edge. These are emerging forward-thinking tech companies backed by the best VCs.
Despite being a young and growing boutique agency, Eleven International has reached milestones through its commitment to not only its clients, but also its team. If you’re passionate about communications and giving emerging brands a voice on a global platform, this is the place to be.
The Ideal Candidate
You should be based in the UK, have prior experience with pitching local and global media, and be well versed in coming up with PR strategies for consumer tech companies. You should also have experience with managing and setting expectations with demanding clients in the consumer tech sector.
The ideal candidate will be a clear communicator and an adept writer, while also being able to think strategically. With experience working on or with diverse, international and remote teams, you’re capable of constantly communicating with your team and managing multiple clients and projects at once, while still meeting deadlines.
Our clients often lean on our expertise to guide or lead their communications and marketing strategies. Often our clients will ask us for advice, so candidates must be quick to pick up trends in our clients’ industries and offer on-the-spot guidance for our clients.
You’ll be expected to tap into existing press contacts that you may have with global technology and business journalists. Ideally, you would have existing relationships with UK-based Tier 1 mainstream tech and business journalists who write for global publications, especially media based in the US – think Bloomberg, TechCrunch, CNET, The Verge, Engadget, and more.
Additional preferred qualities:
* Fluent English – For this role you’ll need to be a fantastic communicator in English, both spoken and written, across various formats. If you can speak Mandarin, that would be a huge plus.
* Flexible Hours – Our clients are primarily based in Asia, so we’re looking for a candidate who’s able to pitch U.K. media, while being a reliable go-to contact for our clients.
* Detail Oriented – You’re able to learn from mistakes and self-implement processes to ensure that details don’t go unnoticed even under pressure.
* In-House Background – Tech companies are chaotic; knowing the process or having experienced it yourself is important and a plus so you can understand the clients’ point of view.
* Communications Experience – At least 2 years of experience in crafting a communications strategy and conducting media relations, with strong pre-existing relationships. If you’re an ex-journalist, you should apply if you wouldn’t be afraid to tap into your network on behalf of your clients.
* Go-Getter - Able to take the initiative and manage clients, while making quick decisions. The more you offer, the larger the opportunity to grow with the business.
* Great Communicator – While the role not surprisingly involves external communication, you’re also expected to excel in internal communication, and as a small agency, there’s nothing more important than an open and reliable channel of communication within your team.
* Team Player – There’s a limit to what anyone can achieve alone. We’ve built a strong, supportive team of professionals who step in to help at a moment’s notice.
Through this you’ll get…
* Exposure to industry-leading tech companies. Get the opportunity to work with Asia-based clients building a global profile.
* Fully remote workplace. While the ideal candidate will be UK-based, there’s no physical office and no official office hours.
* Mentorship for your career growth. It’s common for our alumni to later move onto major tech companies despite never having had prior tech industry experience before.
* Competitive salary. Benefits compensation and salary dependent on qualifications and relevant experience.
