Registered Children’s Home Manager – Salmons House

Salary: £47,611.00 – £50,606.00 per annum + £10,000 Bonus

Location: Middleton Cheney

Ofsted rating: Good

Salmons House isn’t just a building, it’s a home.

Right now, it’s home to three wonderful young girls who are very settled, full of personality, and love all things “girly.” They’ve built a calm, happy, and homely environment where they feel safe and cared for and now we’re looking for a compassionate and inspiring Registered Children’s Home Manager to help this home continue to flourish.

About Salmons House

Salmons House supports children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties, providing the stability, warmth, and consistency they need to thrive. Rated Good by Ofsted, this is a home where relationships are at the heart of everything we do. Our dedicated team works hard to create a nurturing space where every child feels valued, listened to, and understood.

Situated in Middleton Cheney, the home benefits from a peaceful village setting while still being within easy reach of local amenities and community facilities. This creates the perfect balance of calm surroundings and opportunities for the young people to engage in activities and experiences beyond the home.

As Manager, you will lead with empathy and strength, guiding the team to maintain the settled, positive atmosphere already in place while supporting each young person’s individual journey. You’ll also have the support of Homes2Inspire – the only charity-owned provider of residential children’s homes in Ofsted’s top 10 – where 92% of our homes are rated Good or Outstanding.

What you’ll bring:

1. QCF Level 5 in Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare (or working towards)
2. At least 2 years’ recent experience in a supervisory role within a Registered Children’s Home
3. Proven managerial and leadership skills with a child-centred approach
4. Strong knowledge of children’s home regulations and legislation
5. A positive track record with Ofsted inspections
6. The ability to inspire a team and build trusted relationships with stakeholders
7. Full UK Driving Licence
8. Enhanced DBS on the update service

What we offer:

9. 33 days annual leave (including bank holidays)
10. Medicash – claim back everyday healthcare costs (dental, optical, etc.)
11. Employee Assistance Programme – 24/7 support, including counselling sessions
12. Wellbeing support from our in-house NHS-trained team
13. Shopping, cinema and holiday discounts + Blue Light card eligibility
14. Cycle to Work Scheme
15. £500 “Refer a Friend” bonus

Please note:

16. All successful applicants will undergo safer recruitment checks, including right to work, an Enhanced DBS (paid for by H2I), and satisfactory references.
17. We may close the vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications.
18. We are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.

If you want to make a real difference in a home that is already full of warmth, laughter, and stability, we’d love to hear from you.
