Overview
Kiwa CMT is seeking a Geotechnical Site Technician to join our team. This role primarily involves on-site work at various construction projects, with some duties based in our Derby laboratory. You will be responsible for conducting high-quality testing services mainly around the Midlands, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
* Carry out geotechnical site and laboratory testing
* Maintain competency/authorisation for the necessary range of test procedures
* Ensure equipment is in current calibration and pre-test checks are completed
* Ensure that test equipment is checked regularly and functioning correctly, and that any failures, defects or damage is reported
* Use and maintain equipment with all due care and ensure that weekly checks are carried out
* Ensure that all necessary test information, results and QC data are recorded in the manner required by current procedures
* Maintain good site working practice at all times
* Willingness to help in lab when returning from site and basic sample preparation
What we are looking for
* Technical background preferable
* Motivated and focused, with a positive outlook/approach
* Ability to work with a varied workload
* Excellent communication and team collaboration
* Hold a full UK driving licence
* Experience in a similar role (desirable)
* Holds CSCS card (desirable)
What you can expect from us in return
* Salary: £25,389.00 per annum

* 38.75 hours per week - Monday to Friday, primarily site-based with some work at the Derby laboratory. Opportunity for paid overtime, with occasional weekend work required
