Get to Know This RoleThe Sr Manager, Packaging will have a strategic role in the planning and coordinating of all packaging, inventory, and shipment related operations. This role oversees the packaging department and is responsible for delivering packaged product in accordance with production schedules, achieving OEE and loss targets, and meeting SNBC's quality standards. This role is also responsible for Co-packing operations including the supervision of staff, and partnering with the warehouse manager to coordinate packaging and warehouse efforts related to co-packing in coordination with all core managers operations team.What's In It For YouWe’re committed to our employees and work hard to prove it. 1. Lead teams of packaging, and co-packing employees to create and sustain a culture of continuous improvement focused on safety, people, quality, efficiency, cost reduction and waste reduction.
2. Supervise staff which involves direct and indirect responsibilities for interviewing, selecting, training, motivating, evaluating performance, administrating wages, and salaries, developing routines and procedures to ensure achievement of goals
3. Oversee all packaging and co-packing operations partnering with the warehouse manager in coordinating operations. Support and optimize the maintenance and production plans for packaging in Chico across operations.
4. Maintain physical condition of packaging, warehouse, and fleet spaces and equipment by adhering to GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) and strict housekeeping standards
5. Carry out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, applicable federal and state laws, and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Act) regulations
6. Actively collaborate with peers to meet KPI targets and to develop short- and long-term goals that are aligned with Sierra Nevada's business objectives; productively contribute to the growth and development of the company and the craft brewing community
7. Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions
8. Support continuous improvement and internal resource development through technical and educational knowledge sharing for brewery operations
9. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
10. (Chico, CA requirement only) This role is responsible for production and support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Safe Quality Food (SQF) System as defined in the SQF Code. There will be Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety and Food Security Training as required by Local, State, Federal and SNBC policies. All duties will be completed in a manner that is consistent with all aspects of Company Safety Rules, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF). Employees shall report food safety & quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.

11. Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field or any combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved required
12. 7 years relevant experience in a packaging environment or equivalent required and
13. 5 years people leadership experience required and
14. Competent with the Microsoft Office suite of programs (i.e. Word, Excel, and Outlook)
15. Working knowledge of beverage packaging processes and best practices
16. Thorough understanding of inventory control and cycle counts
17. Working knowledge of Packaging and co-packing systems
18. Proven leadership abilities with track record of team mentorship, development, and empowerment
19. Must have strong problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to develop multiple solutions for an issue and make valid recommendations for resolution
20. Ability to be proactive in seeking improvement opportunities and determination to drive resolution to completion
21. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
22. Ability to manage and train staff including; organizing, prioritizing, scheduling daily work and projects and promoting professional development
