The Role As the Occupational Therapist / Clinical Advisor for Medequip Assistive Technology Ltd you willbe part of our existing Community Equipment Services (CES). We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced Occupational Therapist to provide expert equipment advice and support to prescribers, commissioners, operational staff, and the community. You will have extensive experience and have undertaken either management or specialist roles in your field of work. You will use your expert equipment knowledge to ensure best practice within the service and help develop and deliver innovative solutions, providing a high-quality, cost effective, and efficient equipment loan service. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: Working with the senior management team, referrers, commissioners, suppliers, and operational teams to successfully deliver a person-centred Community Equipment Service that supports individuals accessing the right equipment to support their needs at the right time. Providing comprehensive, specialist support and advice to referrers into the service and the managers and colleagues within the service in order to maximise the recycling of special equipment, including review and oversight of special orders. Providing expert advice and clinical reasoning on the supply, suitability, and procurement of equipment into and from the service. To work jointly with the CES managers and commissioners to identify and initiate evidence-based audits and projects, to understand and analyse the data and prepare written reports. Working collaboratively with health & social care professionals and CES commissioners in the development of best practice for the future provision of equipment, ensuring good clinical governance and safe working practices. To support and deliver training and demonstration sessions according to the needs of the contract. Joint working with CES managers to ensure catalogue systems and accurate information are in place to maximise utilisation and ensure best value for money. Qualifications and experience required. Diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy To be registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) Significant post-qualification experience at a senior level Significantexperience of community equipment services,particularly with "specials". Solid IT skills to use Microsoft Office packages and multiple in -house systems.
