Data and MIS Officer – The Bishop of Winchester Academy
Due to the upcoming implementation of a new Management Information System (MIS), the Bishop of Winchester Academy is seeking to increase capacity within our data team. This is an exciting opportunity for a capable and motivated Data and MIS Officer to assist our experienced Data Manager with the day‑to‑day data needs of academy stakeholders and maintain the overall integrity of the academy’s Management Information Systems.
Contract: Term Time Only +2 Contract (41 weeks per year), 37 hours per week.
Working pattern:
Monday – Thursday: 08:00 – 16:00
Friday: 08:00 – 15:30
Responsibilities
* Analyse and evaluate data throughout the year, supporting the Data Manager with importing results and database information from other systems to provide a comprehensive set of base data for all students.
* Upload and maintain whole school data onto SISRA within assessment calendar time frames.
* Produce reports and analysis data, including examination performance as requested by the Data Manager.
* Provide target setting information and performance results for ALT and other stakeholders, as directed by the Data Manager.
* Ensure all teaching staff, using SISRA, have an overview of student academic performance.
* Drive the development of data literacy across the curriculum, alongside analysing external assessment data.
* Assist the Data Manager with maintaining the Academy’s Management Information System.
* Support the Timetabler to organise and co‑ordinate the academy’s timetable, providing effective planning and accurate timetabling for strategic room allocation.
Qualifications
* Be able to work effectively to deadlines, with excellent time management and problem‑solving skills.
* Demonstrate initiative and the ability to prioritise the work of the team and own responsibilities.
* Adopt a positive and resilient attitude, working calmly and collaboratively under pressure and producing solutions from complex information.
* Possess highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, communicating complex, contentious and confidential information to Trust/school leaders and non‑specialists.
* Excellent IT skills, including precision and efficiency, with experience of advanced analytical use of applications such as Google Sheets and MS Excel.
* Be educated to degree level or possess an equivalent level of knowledge and skills relative to the role.
* Hands‑on experience of School MIS systems, with considerable knowledge of Management Information Systems; hold or be willing to obtain data or IT application certifications (e.g., MS Office, Power BI).
