As a Principal member of the EMEA Professional Services team, you are the technical and operational "face of the company." You will own the entire customer lifecycle from initial architecture and server-side deployment to final user certification.
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated self-starter who is equally comfortable in a server room performing security hardening and SQL optimizations as they are in a boardroom briefing C-suite executives or in a classroom coaching emergency managers. You will be considered a thought leader in emergency management technology, providing the strategic guidance necessary for our customers to navigate complex integrations and high-stakes communication requirements.
Responsibilities * Technical Implementation: Lead the end-to-end deployment of BlackBerry AtHoc IWS Alerts and related products in complex enterprise, networked, and cloud environments.
* Architecture & Security: Own the technical design of assigned deployments, including IIS configuration, Active Directory/LDAP integration, and security hardening of applications and operating systems.
* Training Delivery: Plan and deliver expert-level training in classroom and online environments, ensuring operators and administrators are proficient in the software's full capabilities.
* Curriculum Development: Participate in or lead the creation of training materials, job aids, and technical documentation that reflects current product features and EMEA-specific use cases.
* Strategic Advisory: Assist customers in developing SOPs and processes that support system usage; explain integrated mass notification concepts to both technical teams and senior leadership.
* Customer Advocacy: Act as a product advocate by providing feedback to Support and Development teams to identify feature enhancements based on real-world deployment challenges and customer needs.
* Project Leadership: Own the technical side of assigned customer deployments from initial architecture through to successful support hand-off, maintaining detailed implementation plans and interaction reports.
Requirements * Technical Authority: 7–10+ years of experience in enterprise software deployment, including system administration of current Microsoft server and desktop operating systems.
* Integration Expertise: Hands-on experience with Active Directory, LDAP queries, SQL (queries, stored procedures, maintenance), and Web Application Servers (IIS).
* Security & Scripting: Proven ability in security hardening and Windows administrative scripting (PowerShell, VBScript).
* Instructional Excellence: Extensive experience teaching or instructing adults, with a proven track record of success in technical training and coursework development.
* Communication: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to brief all levels of an organizational hierarchy and communicate complex technical issues to non-technical audiences.
* Operational Context: Familiarity with emergency management operations, public safety, or healthcare EOC environments.
* Accountability: Strong sense of ownership and the ability to support multiple projects simultaneously under tight timelines.
* Travel & Compliance: Must hold a valid UK Passport and be willing to travel within the UK and internationally (EMEA region) approximately 40–50% of the time.
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, formal training/adult learning, or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Skills/Abilities
* Pre-Sales & Technical Scoping: Experience in a Pre-Sales, Sales Engineering, or Solution Architect role, specifically supporting the sales cycle through technical validation, proof of concept (PoC) delivery, and technical input for SOWs or RFPs.
* Infrastructure: Knowledge of Load Balancer setup and configuration.
* Geospatial Tools: Experience with Arc-GIS or similar mapping technologies.
* Digital Content: Experience with video editing software (e.g., Camtasia, Adobe Premier Pro) for creating digital training content.
* Certification: Emergency management certifications (e.g., FEMA ICS or UK equivalent).
