Are you ready to use your skills to shape the next generation of skilled carpenters? An Ofsted-rated Good Further Education College in Berkshire is looking for a dedicated Carpentry Assessor to join its growing Apprenticeships team.
About the Role
In this rewarding role, you’ll teach and assess Carpentry and Joinery apprentices both in college and on-site with their employers. You’ll manage your own caseload, plan and deliver high-quality learning, assess practical and theory work, and support apprentices to achieve their qualifications on time. You’ll also play a vital role in preparing learners for End Point Assessments and ensuring that workplace health and safety standards are always met.
You’ll work closely with employers, learners, and your colleagues to make sure apprenticeships deliver real impact for local construction businesses.
Key Details:
Hours: 37 hours per week (Mon–Thu 8am–4pm, Fri 8am–3:30pm)
Permanent, full-time, eligible for £6,000 Levelling Up Premium Payment
Excellent holiday allowance of 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays and Christmas closure and fantastic employer contributions to pension
What We’re Looking For
Qualified Carpentry & Joinery Assessor with Level 3 C&J qualification (ideal).
OR a time-served Site Joiner with a minimum of 5–10 years’ industry experience and experience of working with or mentoring apprentices.
Excellent communication, organisational, and people skills.
Confident understanding of workplace health and safety.
Commitment to delivering high-quality training and assessment.
Full clean driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
