About the role
SZC is owned by two shareholders, EDF and HMG, holding their investment through NNB Holdings Company (SZC) Limited. The project involves designing, financing, constructing, commissioning, operating, maintaining, and decommissioning the Sizewell C nuclear power plant in Suffolk, including related activities such as hydrogen, direct air capture, and desalination.
The current development phase aims to complete the Capital Raise Plan, including equity and debt raising, finalize core supply chain contracts, and obtain necessary regulatory permits and licenses.
Previously part of EDF’s Nuclear Development business, SZC is now establishing itself as an independent organization capable of delivering a new nuclear power plant, leveraging EDF’s UK nuclear capabilities. The project delivery is divided into five programs: Site enabling and off-site infrastructure, Civils, Mechanical and Electrical, Equipment, and Commissioning. This role will be within the Civils Alliance of Laing O’Rourke, Bouygues, and Balfour Beatty.
What you'll be doing
The Alliance Concrete Project Manager will initially work from London, coordinating the concrete batching plant build, liaising with manufacturers and installers. Once operational, duties include supporting the concrete supply for SZC, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance, managing technical validations, and providing technical advice. The role involves liaising with staff at all levels, ensuring project milestones are met, and reporting progress to stakeholders. The role may involve office and onsite work, emphasizing safety, quality, and innovation, with a focus on sustainability and continuous improvement.
