Your newpany
Are you a newly qualified teacher nearing the end of your degree? Hays are working with primary schools across Wigan, Chorley, Skelmersdale and surrounding areas who are ready to take on NQTs from September for both long-term and short-term opportunities. Registering with a supply agency can really boost your profile in the area and give you a chance to work in some schools to build up relationships and your network.
Your new role
We work to tailor your new role to you, so we work towards your preferences and finding the right school for you. If you are open to various year groups, you can open yourself up to more opportunities – particularly if you work on supply as you build up your own skills and network. You'll need to deliver engaging, inclusive lessons across EYFS, KS1 or KS2 and adapt quickly to new settings/follow school policies.
Whether you’re looking to build experience across different year groups or settle into a school long-term, Hays are here to support you every step of the way.
What you'll need to succeed
As a successful primary teacher, you will need to have strong behaviour management skills and be able to follow and implement classroom activities. You must have a strong knowledge of the school curriculum and be able to deliver it successfully. Time-keeping skills are crucial when you are working as a supply teacher. You must hold qualified teacher status obtained in the UK.
