Avery Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join their compassionate team for night shifts at Birchmere House Care Home in Solihull. Main duties of the job
The Senior Care Assistant will support the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care and maintain a safe, supportive environment for residents, visitors, and staff. Responsibilities include monitoring residents' wellbeing, participating in person-centred care planning, supporting medication requirements, supervising staff, and liaising with residents' relatives and health professionals. Avery values a caring, supportive, honest, respectful, and accountable approach in all aspects of work. The ideal candidate will have an NVQ 3 in care, 2 years’ experience in a similar environment, effective communication skills, and a positive attitude towards supporting residents and staff.

Job responsibilities
Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be to support and work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open, supportive, and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff.
* Monitoring the wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any change impacting on care and care plans, ensuring that new needs are met, and written records are amended to reflect any variation.
* Being involved in the person-centred care planning process by implementing, monitoring, and undertaking monthly evaluations.
* Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
* Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required.
* Acting as a key point of contact with residents, their relatives and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are acted upon and concerns or complaints are escalated.

* Have 2 years experience working in a similar care environment.

Additional requirements
* A DBS Disclosure check, the cost of which will be met by Avery Healthcare.
* Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
Person Specification
* NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes, 2 years experience in similar care environment, effective communication skills, positive attitude to supporting and nurturing residents and staff.
