Job Overview
We are currently seeking a Site Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join our team in the UK supporting the commissioning phase.
Responsibilities
* Hands‑on commissioning of electrical components and systems such as transformers, medium and low voltage switchgears, DC systems, rectifiers, inverters, etc.
* Carrying out testing on electrical systems and equipment, system optimisation and troubleshooting, and filling in the respective commissioning documentation and protocols.
* Cooperation with internal team members, guidance and coordination of external partners and sub‑contractors, interacting with customers.
* Ensuring that all activities conducted on site follow the correct process in accordance with project requirements and in strict compliance with all EHS requirements.
* Understanding and executing the equipment clearance (LOTO) procedure, as well as Job Safety Analysis / Work Authorization / Confined Space / Hot Work Permits.
* Authorised for planning and executing LV isolations.
* Coordination of all necessary activities with all involved parties, such as commissioning team, erection team and sub‑contractors.
* Lead a team of electrical technicians and co‑ordinate their activities.
* Participation in the walk‑downs for turnover from construction to commissioning, identifying open items that prevent system start‑up.
* Preparation and update of the commissioning procedures to be conducted on site.
* Reporting to the Lead Electrical Engineer and the Commissioning Manager.
Qualifications
* Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
* At least 5–7 years of working experience in power stations and/or HV substation electrical commissioning activities with demonstrable experience.
* Strong team spirit, capable of working with an international team and other cultures.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Strong organisational skills.
* Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
* Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
* Fluent in spoken and written English.
