Our client has been in the Low Voltage Electrical Control Panel Industry for over 50-years and has gained a high reputation for its quality and customer service. All projects are bespoke.
The company values its employees and has a large proportion of their staff who have worked with them for over 20-years and due to growth they have created this new role to accommodate for a new need within the business.
This role is offered with a full-time salary between £35,000 to £43,000 per annum dependant on experience.
Your role will include
* Design and implement a production planning and capacity management system appropriate to a small-to-medium engineering business
* Create and maintain production schedules that support agreed customer delivery dates
* Balance workloads across teams and departments to maximise efficiency and utilisation
* Identify capacity shortfalls, pinch points and delivery risks, escalating issues where required either internally or directly with the customer.
* Highlight periods of under-utilisation and support decisions around resource planning and workload smoothing
* Work closely with Sales, Tendering, Design and Manufacturing to align forecasts, orders and production plans
* Provide capacity and lead-time input to support tender submissions and quotation activity
* Liaise with Procurement to ensure material availability supports production requirements
* Track performance against plan and re-prioritise schedules in response to change
* Produce clear, concise reports on workload, capacity and delivery performance
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within planning and operational processes
So what are the requirements for this role?
* Experience in production planning, capacity planning or operational coordination within a manufacturing or engineering environment is a must have for this.
* Exposure to production planning or capacity management software systems, with the ability to support implementation
* Solid understanding of production workflows and resource allocation
* Experience within an electrical engineering and/or LV Control Panel Manufacturing environment would be beneficial
* Strong organisational and analytical skills, with a structured approach to problem-solving alongside the ability to convert data into practical, actionable plans along with strong Excel skills and familiarity with planning tools
In an ideal world the candidate would also have some knowledge or experience in electrical engineering, manufacturing or project‑based production environments alongside the knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
