Job Title: Gardener Location: Watford, Hertfordshire Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent Sector: Grounds & Estates / Horticulture About the Role We are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client, a renowned estate and luxury hospitality venue in Hertfordshire, for an enthusiastic and dedicated Gardener to join their skilled Grounds & Gardens team. Set across acres of woodlands, wetlands, fruit trees and formal gardens, this role offers a dream opportunity for anyone passionate about horticulture and the outdoors. From seasonal displays to kitchen garden produce, youll help shape and maintain a landscape that both delights guests and supports the wider estate experience. Key Responsibilities Assist in the maintenance of a wide range of garden areas, including lawns, flower beds, woodland paths, wetlands, and orchard spaces. Carry out general gardening tasks such as mowing, strimming, weeding, planting, mulching, potting, raking, digging, pruning, hedge trimming, and litter picking. Support the upkeep and development of the Walled Garden, including growing produce used in the estates kitchens and restaurants. Help set the visual scene for seasonal events, pop-ups and guest experiences by maintaining gardens to high standards year-round. Operate and care for a range of horticultural tools and machinery, including mowers, strimmers, and hedge trimmers. Contribute to the teams daily and seasonal work schedules, supporting colleagues as needed and ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently. Ensure all work complies with health and safety standards, reporting issues and maintaining tidy, hazard-free work areas. Work outdoors in all weather conditions and be available for early starts (around 7:30am) and weekend duties on a rota basis.
