Position Description
Position Summary
The Digital Technician Assistant, under the guidance of the Office of Technology Support Services, performs various office duties including troubleshooting and supporting computer hardware and software for students and staff, supporting users in person, via email, and on the phone, repairing classroom and lab PC and Mac equipment, completing documentation, and handling special projects.
Preferred Experience and Skills
* Basic computer experience and hardware knowledge
* Knowledge of multiple operating systems and configurations is preferred
* Outgoing personality and good customer service skills
* Ability to work in a team and share knowledge
* Ability to handle multiple projects and navigate spreadsheets and databases
* Effective communication skills, both oral and written
* Willingness to learn new technologies and troubleshooting practices
Dress Code
Neat and clean appearance; no cutoffs or torn clothing.
Work Conditions
Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
Primary Duties
* Assist help line calls with a pleasant demeanor
* Work on RT tickets in support and production queues
* Manage equipment loans
* Troubleshoot LMS, video conferencing, and learning applications
* Notify patrons of work completion
* Assist with inventory tasks
* Communicate effectively with clients
* Research to support the department's knowledge base
* Re-image laptops
* Troubleshoot and support hardware/software on PCs and Macs
* Assist with classroom troubleshooting and AV equipment
* Maintain reliable attendance
