PSI supply specialist equipment designed and manufactured in-house for the Advanced Materials industry, our technology is sold throughout the world and offers customers research or production scale machines to process feedstock material into a range of high value-added products for the aerospace, defence, and general engineering sectors.
Responsible for generating plans in Microsoft project and identifying critical path. Ensuring the link between supply chain and the overall build schedule is reflected in the plan. Take ownership of the buying activities as directed by the purchasing manager. Reflecting and updating the plan ensuring deviations / progress are understood.
Main Responsibilities & Duties:
* Plan and place purchase orders as directed by Purchasing manager
* Co-ordinate with manufacturing, production and design teams to generate Microsoft plans for each project system build
* Work with the R&D team supporting planning of research projects
* Work with the operations management team to support building and overall capacity planning
* Support the development and implementation of new MRP systems and/or implementation of other supporting systems
* Minimise changes to the production plan through strategic planning and forward forecasting with suppliers
* Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity
* Monitor and manage stock levels for all materials and packaging
* Work with suppliers to ensure an efficient supply chain, focusing on relationship building
* Ensure relevant communication with other departments on supply problems / changes which may impact on operations and ability to meet customers’ requirements / deadlines
* Ensure security, integrity, and confidentiality of data.
Required Skills & Experience:
* Experience in Procurement & Master Production Scheduling roles.
* Experience with using MRP systems within a manufacturing environment.
* Ability to respond quickly to requirements, prioritising effectively.
* Analytical, with excellent communication skills and attention to detail and the ability to work across the organisation.
The role is based at PSI’s Hailsham site but will involve occasional UK and overseas visits in support of our worldwide customer base. Due to the nature of the work this role cannot be fulfilled by working on a remote basis.
Essentials:
Full UK Driving Licence and ability to travel globally as required
