Job Title: General Cover Teacher (KS3 & KS4) Location: Ludlow Start Date: Immediate Contract Type: Full-Time, Ongoing (Monday to Friday) Are you a confident and adaptable teacher looking for a new challenge? A well-established secondary school in Ludlow is seeking a dedicated and flexible General Cover Teacher to provide full-time classroom cover across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a supportive team, delivering high-quality teaching across a range of subjects. This position is to start immediately and will run on an ongoing basis, covering lessons from Monday to Friday. Key Responsibilities: Deliver pre-prepared lessons across multiple subjects to KS3 & KS4 pupils Keep students engaged and on task in the absence of their usual teacher Create a positive and focused learning environment Maintain classroom behaviour in line with school policies Support individual learning needs where required Communicate effectively with other teaching and support staff to ensure continuity of learning Record attendance and report any concerns or incidents promptly Requirements: QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent is desirable, but not essential Previous experience teaching or covering lessons at secondary level (KS3/KS4) Strong classroom management and communication skills A flexible, professional, and reliable attitude A valid, enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one) A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students Typical school hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm Whether you're an experienced teacher or a confident cover supervisor, this role offers the chance to gain valuable experience across a variety of subjects in a supportive secondary school setting in Ludlow.
