English Cover Teacher (Secondary) – South Bristol
Protocol Education are recruiting confident and proactive English Cover Teachers to support secondary schools across South Bristol. You’ll step into the classroom when teachers are absent, delivering pre-planned English lessons and ensuring students stay motivated, supported, and on track with their learning. This role is ideal for both experienced teachers looking for flexibility, or English ECTs looking to gain valuable classroom experience and build relationships with schools in Bristol to springboard into a long-term career. Successful applicants will bring subject knowledge, energy, and the ability to build positive relationships with both staff and students.
What the job looks like:
• Confidently delivering pre-planned English lessons, ensuring strong ratios of student engagement and completion
• Managing behaviour in line with school policies, with both consistency and warmth
• Supporting students with professionalism, encouragement, and patience
• Collecting and organising completed work for the use of the classroom teacher
• Reporting back on learning progress and behaviour for the use of the classroom teacher

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
