Overview
Are you a Production Engineer looking for your first opportunity supporting solutions within the manufacturing and Aerospace/Defence sector? The position is with a global Aerospace and Defence manufacturer based in Greater Manchester and focuses on providing technical support for products within the Operations function.

Responsibilities
* Supporting the technical engineering input within Operations (Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain).
* Supporting the technical justification for change control within an Operations environment.
* Supporting the supply chain function with technical queries.
* Supporting the Engineering (NPI) function with change control feedback.
* Presenting change control technical rationale into the Engineering Design Authority.
* Supporting the implementation of fresh, cost effective, best practice technological methods which enhance operational performance and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
* Solid understanding of Lean Principles and process variation (Green Belt desirable).
* Solid understanding of Core Manufacturing tools and ability to implement OEE, Value Stream Mapping, and Continuous Improvement methods (e.g., Kaizen).
* Solid understanding of APQP to assist members of the NPI Team.
* Qualified to a minimum of HNC / HND in Electrical Engineering with previous experience in electronic manufacturing (Aerospace industry experience is highly desirable).
* Ability to problem solve a wide range of technical issues (Mechanical, Electrical & Process).
* Microsoft Office experience.
* Be proactive using methods to prevent failures within Customer/Production (PFMEA or Ishikawa).
