Overview
A secondary school in the Bitterne area of Southampton is seeking a passionate and committed Religious Education Teacher to join their Humanities department after October half term. This long-term role offers the exciting opportunity to become a permanent member of staff for the right candidate.
The successful teacher will deliver inspiring RE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering curiosity, respect, and engagement in students of all abilities. This is an excellent opportunity for both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced educators to contribute to a thriving school community.
Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive RE lessons that promote critical thinking and respect for diverse beliefs.
* Assess, monitor, and support student progress with regular feedback.
* Contribute to curriculum development within the Humanities department.
* Create a positive classroom environment with high expectations for achievement and behaviour.
* Support whole-school initiatives and contribute to extracurricular activities.

What We’re Looking For
* A degree in Religious Studies or a closely related subject (essential).
* QTS or equivalent teaching qualification (preferred).
* Experience teaching RE at KS3 and KS4.
* Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills.
* A genuine passion for Religious Education and student success.
