We are seeking a self‑motivated and engaging pharmacist to join our small, friendly pharmacy department. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your leadership, clinical, and directorate skills as a pharmacist and to work in a supportive, team‑driven environment.
Responsibilities
* Lead the antimicrobial stewardship programme.
* Act as the Directorate Pharmacist for Ophthalmology.
* Manage the Band 7 dispensary and the ophthalmology pharmacist.
* Undertake projects beyond the core specialities, promoting safe, cost‑effective prescribing, medicines management, and optimisation.
* Provide clinical pharmacy services to the adjacent private hospital (The McIndoe Centre).
* Collaborate closely with world‑leading clinical teams to maintain the highest standards of quality and professional practice.
Qualifications
You must be a GPhC (GB) registered pharmacist and have gained a post‑graduate clinical pharmacy diploma or equivalent experience. Excellent verbal and written English communication and presentation skills are essential.
There is a drive to expand independent prescribing within the Trust. Being a pharmacist prescriber is desirable but not essential; you would be supported to undertake the qualification if desired.
Working Hours & Conditions
Currently there are no weekend duties, but the role may require bank holiday cover and occasional weekends or late nights in the future.
Hospital Overview
The pharmacy department serves the whole hospital and provides clinical pharmacy services to the adjacent private hospital. The hospital is renowned for advances in maxillofacial surgery, breast reconstruction, hand surgery, ophthalmology, burns and skin care, head and neck and orthodontic surgery, and runs a busy Sleep Disorder Centre.
