Project Engineer / Senior Field Support Officer (FSO)Location: Perth (site-based with hybrid elements)Rate: £400 per day (Umbrella)Clearance: BPSS requiredTravel: Frequent travel to sites across the regionThe OpportunityWe are currently recruiting for a utilities client delivering a major network infrastructure and migration programme across multiple operational sites.This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on Project Engineer / Senior Field Support Officer to play a key role in large-scale Meraki network deployments, working within a structured programme environment.Role OverviewYou will be responsible for supporting the rollout and migration of network infrastructure across multiple sites. This role combines network engineering, field support, and desktop deployment, requiring a self-sufficient engineer who is comfortable working in live environments and managing on-site activities independently.Key ResponsibilitiesNetwork Infrastructure & MigrationRepatch and reconnect devices to new Meraki switches across site migrationsCarry out structured cabling, patch panel work, and cable managementValidate and troubleshoot network connectivity post-migrationIdentify and escalate infrastructure or capacity issues on siteDesktop Support & Device ConfigurationConfigure PCs and laptops including domain joining and network setupProvide on-site desktop support during and after migrationsSupport first logon and ensure LAN connectivity is establishedMaintain accurate records of devices configured and deployedProject DeliveryWork within a structured programme team, providing progress updatesCoordinate with site stakeholders to minimise disruptionComplete migration documentation and sign-off reportsRaise risks, issues, and blockers proactivelyCollaborate with third-party engineers and vendors on siteSkills & ExperienceEssentialExperience in field support, desktop support, or network engineering rolesStrong hands-on experience with: Structured cabling & patchingRack installation / network hardwareKnowledge of network switching (Cisco Meraki highly desirable)Experience configuring Windows PCs in a domain environmentAbility to work independently across multiple sitesStrong communication and stakeholder engagement skillsFull UK driving licenceDesirableExperience in utilities, energy, or critical infrastructure environmentsFamiliarity with: Cisco Meraki dashboardSD-WAN / ZTNA / Cato NetworksExperience in technology refresh or migration programmesCCNA (or equivalent)Additional InformationThis is a primarily site-based role with some hybrid flexibility for admin and coordination tasksRegular travel to operational sites is requiredOccasional out-of-hours work may be needed for planned migrationsCandidates must be eligible to pass BPSS clearanceApply NowIf you're a hands-on network / field engineer looking to work on a high-impact infrastructure programme, we'd love to hear from you.Guidant, Carbon60, Lorien & SRG - The Impellam Group Portfolio are acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.TPBN1_UKTJ
